Welcome to PreK-Title1 at Hilburn Academy!
Below, you will find a list of supplies needed for our class. Please do not buy extra crayons, scissors, pencils, etc. as these will be provided in your child’s new book bag. Mrs. Carter will contact you, after August 15th, to schedule a home visit and provide you with more information about our class. Our first full day of school will be Monday, August 31, 2015.
CLASSROOM NEEDS LIST FOR EACH CHILD
Book bag/backpack
Family Photo
A small photo album, no larger than 4 x 6, containing several pictures of family members that can be kept at school is very helpful for the first few days!
Please list names on the back of the pictures so we will know the names when discussing the pictures with your child. This serves as a home/school connection for the child to cheer them up when they miss their family. Sending in a simple picture is also acceptable.
Change of clothing
All clothing items should be seasonally appropriate and labeled with your child’s name. Please do not forget clean underwear, socks, and shoes!
Towel
For storage purposes, towels must be no larger than a beach towel. Title 1 will provide a cot for each child. A small pillow or small stuffed animal might also be acceptable. Please remember to label!!!
Lunch box/bag
If your child is bringing his/her lunch,
please place all food items in his/her lunch box/bag. We will not be able to heat or maintain a
cool temperature for your child’s food, so be sure to pack the items necessary
to maintain heat/coolness. This lunch box/bag must be able to fit inside the child's backpack.
Each child will receive a lunch number. If you plan for your child to buy lunch, please consider setting up a lunch account for them. If you send money to school, it MUST be in an envelope labeled with your child’s name and the purpose for the money.

One box quart sized zip-lock bags
One large box soft tissues
Large boxes of snack foods: goldfish, Cheerios, crackers, pretzels
(Snacks will be shared with other members of the class)
